Els primers anys del segle XX van ser especialment foscos i convulsos, uns anys de crisis a tots els nivells en els quals nom\u00e9s es podia reaccionar a trav\u00e9s de la f\u00faria: \u201cDonin-se a si mateixos un cop de puny en la cara i caiguin morts\u201d. Aix\u00ed acabava el sis\u00e8 dels set manifestos escrits pels dadaistes.<\/p>\n<p>Una mica m\u00e9s tard i amb la situaci\u00f3 encara no resolta, Luis *Bu\u00f1uel tamb\u00e9 buscava no sols \u201c*\u00e9pater *le *bourgois\u201d sin\u00f3 despertar a l&#8217;espectador de la seva letargia, incomodar-lo i fer-li reaccionar. I la seva estrat\u00e8gia no pot ser m\u00e9s efica\u00e7: \u201cEl gos andal\u00fas\u201d s&#8217;inicia amb una escena memorable en la qual un home sost\u00e9 una navalla d&#8217;afaitar (el propi *Bu\u00f1uel) i dissecciona l&#8217;ull d&#8217;una dona. La indifer\u00e8ncia no t\u00e9 cabuda i la comoditat tampoc. En 1973, Bruce *Nauman segueix la mateixa t\u00e0ctica per a sacsar a l&#8217;espectador en un gravat en el qual apareix invertida la seg\u00fcent amonestaci\u00f3 \u201c*Pay *attention *mother *fuckers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La primera d\u00e8cada del segle XXI est\u00e0 resultant tan convulsa com la del segle XX, per\u00f2 menys clara potser. No hi ha hagut una gran guerra que hagi arrasat amb tot, sin\u00f3 moltes i molt subtils transformacions que han fet que el s\u00f2l de les certeses es trenqui sota els nostres peus. \u201c*Sorry, *we\u2019re *fucked\u201d, escriu *Kendell *Geers sobre un mirall en el qual ens veiem reflectits.<\/p>\n<p>Aquests dies ens retrobem amb *Kendell *Geers que presenta una magn\u00edfica mostra del seu treball en la Galeria ADN de Barcelona. La seva manera de treballar i les seves formes de presentaci\u00f3 no poden ser m\u00e9s pertinents no sols en relaci\u00f3 al context global sin\u00f3<br \/>\ntamb\u00e9 al de l&#8217;anestesiada (sobretot cultural i institucionalment) Barcelona. *Geers va comen\u00e7ar a articular el seu treball a partir d&#8217;un sentiment de culpa a causa de la seva condici\u00f3 de blanc nascut a Sud-\u00e0frica. Testimoniatge d&#8217;innombrables injust\u00edcies, *Geers va optar molt aviat per aplicar un estil directe i sense concessions. En les ant\u00edpodes del pol\u00edticament correcte, *Geers s&#8217;autodefineix com \u201c*terrorealista\u201d, aix\u00f2 \u00e9s, \u201cexhibeix el real de manera imp\u00fadica, sense els filtres ideol\u00f2gics, morals o religiosos que solen alterar-ho\u201d, tal com escriu Pierre Olivier *Rollin, comissari de l&#8217;exposici\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Aquests s\u00f3n alguns dels treballs que es mostren. Una decorativa derivaci\u00f3 del \u201c*LOVE\u201d de Robert Indiana, transformat en un enorme mural en el qual les lletres configuren filigranes en les quals pot llegir-se la paraula \u201cCONY\u201d; variacions (en forma d&#8217;expl\u00edcits penis afegits) en diversos motius com a icones religioses, populars o pol\u00edtics o una instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 en la qual pengen del sostre maons, com els que van utilitzar els activistes anti-apartheid que van suspendre maons des de ponts perqu\u00e8 colpegessin els cristalls dels cotxes quan aquests passaven sota el pont.<\/p>\n<p>Com els *dad\u00edstas, *Bu\u00f1uel, *Nauman i tants uns altres, *Geers no ens deixa que ens relaxem. \u201c*Sorry, *we\u2019re *fucked\u201d.
