A prop\u00f2sit de &#8220;Making Worlds&#8221;, Venecia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/a-desk.org\/ca\/magazine\/correccion-y-honestidad\/\">Vincle a l&#8217;article a A*DESK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Malgrat la proliferaci\u00f3 de biennals que se celebren a tot el m\u00f3n i de l&#8217;acceptaci\u00f3 de la seva naturalesa especulativa, la Biennal de Ven\u00e8cia continua sent l&#8217;esdeveniment de refer\u00e8ncia a la qual el m\u00f3n de l&#8217;art acudeix al complet. Tan criticada com celebrada, la cita a Ven\u00e8cia continua estant b\u00e9 present en totes les Blackberries, iPhone i Moleskine del m\u00f3n de l&#8217;art.<\/p>\n<p>2008-2009 ha estat un per\u00edode &#8220;bienalero&#8221; per a Daniel Birnbaum. L&#8217;any 2008, va ser comissari de les triennals de Yokohama i Tor\u00ed (d&#8217;aquesta \u00faltima don\u00e0vem compte en a-desk: i aquest 2009 ho ha completat comissariant l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 internacional de la Biennal de Ven\u00e8cia.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Birnbaum \u00e9s un comissari subtil. No \u00e9s pol\u00e8mic ni dogm\u00e0tic i acostuma a treballar &#8220;al costat dels artistes&#8221;. Rector des de l&#8217;any 2001 de la Staedelschule de Frankfurt, anteriorment va dirigir Iaspis, un espai d&#8217;estudis per a artistes i programa d&#8217;intercanvis a Estocolm. En les seves propostes, acostuma a ser gener\u00f3s en els seus plantejaments, en el sentit que amb les seves exposicions i projectes planteja q\u00fcestions d&#8217;una manera no massa r\u00edgida i, sovint, cedeix el seu protagonisme als artistes i els seus treballs.<\/p>\n<p>Si en l&#8217;hivern del 2008, la melancolia com a motor creatiu era el &#8220;leitmotiv&#8221; de la triennal de Tor\u00ed, en la primavera del 2009, la creen\u00e7a en l&#8217;art com a motor per a fer, fabricar, construir o inventar mons es converteix en el lema d&#8217;aquesta Biennal de Ven\u00e8cia. L&#8217;exposici\u00f3 internacional comissariada per Birnbaum per a la Biennal de Ven\u00e8cia no \u00e9s prospectiva sin\u00f3 recapitulativa, intenta ordenar i establir noves genealogies m\u00e9s que llan\u00e7ar teories in\u00e8dites. Es nodreix d&#8217;alguns referents en la recent hist\u00f2ria de les exposicions (com per exemple &#8220;Poetry Must Be Made by All! Transform the World!&#8221;, que l&#8217;any 1969 va juxtaposar pol\u00edtiques radicals amb art d&#8217;avantguarda) o de llibres com &#8220;Ways of Worldmaking&#8221; de Nelson Goodman (de qui pren directament el t\u00edtol per a la seva exposici\u00f3) per a reivindicar la diversitat i la multiplicitat de referents, encara que a vegades no encaixin o semblin contraposats, apel\u00b7lant, en definitiva, a la pr\u00f2pia multiplicitat, tan ben explicada per Pablo Neruda en el seu poema &#8220;Molts Som&#8221; (&#8220;De tants homes que soc, que som \/no puc trobar a cap\/ Se&#8217;m perden sota la roba, \/es van anar a una altra ciutat.)<\/p>\n<p>Conscient que &#8220;la festa ha acabat&#8221;, el comissari d&#8217;aquesta biennal sembla demanar calma i moderaci\u00f3 i, sobretot, molt de sentit com\u00fa. Birnbaum no advoca per l&#8217;espectacle, sin\u00f3 que es posiciona en un bon nivell artesanal que defineix conceptes amb claredat i amb precisi\u00f3. &#8220;Making Worlds&#8221; \u00e9s un projecte cuidat detalladament. Per exemple, el disseny gr\u00e0fic (a c\u00e0rrec de Stockholm Design Lab) desconstrueix les banderes de tots els pa\u00efsos fins a reduir-les als seus components m\u00e9s b\u00e0sics: les formes geom\u00e8triques que es juxtaposen i adquireixen nous significats. L&#8217;exposici\u00f3 en el Palazzo delle Espozioni en els Giardini (molt m\u00e9s aconseguida que la part del Arsenale, tot cal dir-ho) inicia el seu recorregut amb les tensions creades en l&#8217;espai per Tomas Saraceno, que immediatament situa a l&#8217;espectador en un espai i un temps distints, en els quals ha de definir la seva posici\u00f3 i el seu recorregut de manera conscient. Una experi\u00e8ncia que guarda uns certs paral\u00b7lelismes amb l&#8217;estupend inici de l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 en Arsenale, amb els fils d&#8217;or de Ligia Papi que semblen lluitar entre la tensi\u00f3 i la immaterialitat.<\/p>\n<p>El recorregut per l&#8217;exposici\u00f3 va conduint a l&#8217;espectador per moments que es van alternant entre el gaudi, la reflexi\u00f3 i la identificaci\u00f3. L&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;espai, la identificaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;espai art com a lloc per a la utopia i la possibilitat que l&#8217;espectador formi part activa del proc\u00e9s (i no parlo aqu\u00ed d&#8217;interactivitat, sin\u00f3 de ser part\u00edcip) li van acompanyant de la m\u00e0 de Gordon Matta-Clark, Yona Friedman o Yoko Ono, per citar tres exemples ben representatius d&#8217;aquests tres aspectes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Making Worlds&#8221; confirma certeses m\u00e9s que intu\u00efcions i cerca dibuixar genealogies que connectin artistes actuals amb referents ancorats en les d\u00e8cades dels 60 i 70, emfatitzant els seus punts en com\u00fa, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 assenyalant les difer\u00e8ncies, amb una doble finalitat: apuntalar discursos actuals en referents anteriors i, alhora, permetre relectures de postures que ja formen part de la hist\u00f2ria de l&#8217;art. Les pres\u00e8ncies de Gutai, Baldessari, Fahlstr\u00f6m o el ja citat Matta-Clark han d&#8217;entendre&#8217;s en aquest rol d&#8217;antecedents amb unes perviv\u00e8ncies clares en l&#8217;actualitat i, alhora, com la necess\u00e0ria revisi\u00f3 d&#8217;uns postulats que no poden diferenciar art de vida i que no poden deixar d&#8217;entendre l&#8217;art com un dels \u00faltims reductes des dels quals \u00e9s possible transformar la societat (en major o menor escala, per\u00f2 transformar-la, al cap i a la fi).<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9s probable que &#8220;Making Worlds&#8221; no es converteixi en un referent en la hist\u00f2ria de la Biennal de Ven\u00e8cia. No \u00e9s trencadora, ni pol\u00e8mica, ni tan sols especulativa. No obstant aix\u00f2, s\u00ed que ens sembla honesta en els seus plantejaments i generosa amb els treballs dels artistes. La llista apareix poblada de creadors amb els quals Birnbaum ha treballat en nombroses ocasions, fet que es tradueix en una bona presentaci\u00f3 dels treballs (excel\u00b7lents els espais dedicats a Wolfgang Tillmans, excepcional la pe\u00e7a de Simon Starling, i molt encertades les intervencions de Tobias Rehberger en el bar i Rirkrit Tiravanija en la llibreria, per citar nom\u00e9s alguns).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Making Worlds&#8221; no \u00e9s una exposici\u00f3 de tesi, sin\u00f3 de propostes i d&#8217;experi\u00e8ncies que s&#8217;adapta perfectament a aquest espai tan irreal que \u00e9s Ven\u00e8cia, una bombolla en la qual no t\u00e9 sentit convertir la biennal en un parc tem\u00e0tic, perqu\u00e8 la pr\u00f2pia ciutat ho \u00e9s. I aix\u00ed ha d&#8217;entendre&#8217;s la intervenci\u00f3 de John Baldessari en la fa\u00e7ana del pavell\u00f3. Per aix\u00f2, ens sembla molt m\u00e9s honest reafirmar la creen\u00e7a en l&#8217;art i en la seva capacitat per a obrir noves vies i incidir en noves maneres de pensar i d&#8217;actuar.
