Rares vegades \u00e9s objecte d&#8217;estudi seri\u00f3s, encara que est\u00e0 omnipresent en la m\u00fasica, el cinema, la literatura, el teatre i, per descomptat, en la vida. La paraula evoca una gamma molt variada d&#8217;associacions, des de les estrat\u00e8gies de m\u00e0rqueting m\u00e9s irremeiablement kitsch fins a les facetes m\u00e9s \u00edntimes de la nostra exist\u00e8ncia o les icones que conformen la nostra mem\u00f2ria col\u00b7lectiva. Tradu\u00efts en imatges: els cors i cupidos en els aparadors del dia de Sant Valent\u00ed, les atractives parelles joves utilitzades per a promocionar la venda de tota mena de productes (vacances, cotxes, cosm\u00e8tics, perfums, tabac, begudes, etc.), els records de les nostres pr\u00f2pies experi\u00e8ncies personals, el pet\u00f3 d&#8217;Humphrey Bogart i Ingrid Bergman a Casablanca\u2026<\/p>\n<p>El concepte d&#8217;amor est\u00e0 lligat a nocions essencials com la identitat, les relacions socials i personals i la pol\u00edtica. Des del punt de vista cient\u00edfic, es considera una noci\u00f3 relativa. Les recerques i explicacions de psic\u00f2legs, soci\u00f2legs, economistes, bi\u00f2legs i antrop\u00f2legs serveixen per a crear les petites peces individuals d&#8217;un trencaclosques que cobra sentit quan s&#8217;observa \u00edntegrament. Aix\u00ed, els psicoanalistes interpreten el comportament amor\u00f3s com el producte de les nostres primeres experi\u00e8ncies com a nens, els bi\u00f2legs el redueixen a una s\u00e8rie de reaccions qu\u00edmiques, els soci\u00f2legs expliquen les noves formes de relacions personals com una reacci\u00f3 a l&#8217;aparici\u00f3 de noves malalties, i fins i tot els economistes observen una relaci\u00f3 entre la freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia de les aventures amoroses en l&#8217;entorn laboral i els balan\u00e7os de cap d&#8217;any de l&#8217;empresa.<\/p>\n<p>Depicting Love aborda la noci\u00f3 d&#8217;amor des de diferents perspectives. El projecte pren com a punt de partida un llibre imprescindible de Roland Barthes, Fragments del discurs d&#8217;un amant(1). Potser el m\u00e9s significatiu d&#8217;aquest llibre \u00e9s la seva formulaci\u00f3, que q\u00fcestiona les diferents maneres de relatar l&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia del subjecte com a amant. El llibre s&#8217;articula a partir de nocions (ordenades de la A a la Z) que l&#8217;autor defineix en termes tant te\u00f2rics com personals.<\/p>\n<p>En el pla formal, el projecte Depicting Love consta de dues parts clarament diferenciades: &#8211; un programa de projeccions que repr\u00e8n set nocions clau del llibre de Barthes per a presentar projectes de v\u00eddeo d&#8217;artistes internacionals en connexi\u00f3 amb llargmetratges; &#8211; una recopilaci\u00f3 en DVD de noves produccions d&#8217;una dotzena d&#8217;artistes internacionals, creada espec\u00edficament per a aquest context.<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;aquesta manera, el projecte Depicting Love es configura com una esp\u00e8cie d&#8217;exposici\u00f3 m\u00f2bil, i per tant vers\u00e0til i din\u00e0mica. Al mateix temps, aquest format reflecteix la realitat actual de les nostres societats cada vegada m\u00e9s estandarditzades en les quals la mobilitat i el q\u00fcestionament del sentit del \u201clloc\u201d han passat a ser vists com a factors prioritaris. Tamb\u00e9 en aquest context, l&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia de la imatge est\u00e0 ineludiblement associada a la imatge en moviment. Depicting Love, el programa de projeccions que es presenta durant set dies consecutius, est\u00e0 format per una vintena de projectes de v\u00eddeo de diferents artistes i set pel\u00b7l\u00edcules que, des de diferents temps i contextos, han reflexionat sobre el tema de l&#8217;amor i que ara es projecten en relaci\u00f3 amb set nocions clau del Discurs d&#8217;un amant de Roland Barthes. Aix\u00ed, en el programa Afirmaci\u00f3 s&#8217;han incl\u00f2s els projectes de Zbig Rybczynski, Pipilotti Rist, Chris Cunningham i Annika Str\u00f6m. Ulay\/Abramovic, Yael Andr\u00e9 i Sadie Benning, entre altres, han abordat la idea barthesiana de Trobada. Rivane &amp; Sergio Neuenschwander, Valie Export i Rui Cal\u00e7ada Bastos s&#8217;inclouen en el programa Carta, mentre que Heman Chong i Jordi Moragues, entre altres, han abordat la noci\u00f3 de Signes. Els projectes de Lutz Mommartz, Bas Jan Ader i N\u00faria Channel exploren la idea de l&#8217;Insuportable. Bj\u00f8rn Melhus, A. P. Komen\/Karen Murphy, Sophie Calle &amp; Greg Shephard i Gino Rubert s&#8217;inclouen en el programa Incognoscible. Finalment, Christian Jankowski, Lorna Simpson i Vito Acconci s&#8217;han centrat en la idea d&#8217;Espera. Entre les pel\u00b7l\u00edcules projectades durant les sessions destaquen Darling (1965) de John Schlesinger, Brief Encounter (1945) de David Lean, Dangerous Liasons (1989) de Stephen Frears o A Short Film About Love (1988) de Krzysztov Kiesslowski, entre altres. El DVD Depicting Love reuneix una s\u00e8rie de nous projectes que utilitzen la fotografia, el dibuix, la imatge en moviment, el text, el so, els enlla\u00e7os d&#8217;Internet i altres possibilitats massa nombroses per a enumerar-les aqu\u00ed, suggerides pels artistes convidats a participar en aquest projecte: Chema Alvargonz\u00e1lez, Mart\u00ed Anson, Maurycy Gomulicki, Leiko Ikemura, Andreas M. Kaufmann, Yves Netzhammer, Mabel Palac\u00edn, Susan Philipsz, Francesc Ruiz, Jan Rothuizen, Sam Samore i Young-Hae Chang. El projecte Depicting Love, que consta d&#8217;un programa de projeccions i del present DVD, presa com a punt de partida un llibre seminal de Roland Barthes, Fragments d\u2019un Discours Amoureux (Editions du Soleil, Par\u00eds, 1975). Tal vegada el m\u00e9s significatiu d&#8217;aquest llibre \u00e9s la seva formulaci\u00f3, en q\u00fcestionar les diferents maneres de comunicar l&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia del subjecte com a amant. Barthes proposa un retrat (estructural m\u00e9s que biogr\u00e0fic) en el qual el subjecte que mestressa es parla a si mateix, en confrontaci\u00f3 amb el subjecte estimat, que no parla. El llibre s&#8217;articula a partir de nocions (ordenades de la A a la Z) que l&#8217;autor defineix en termes tant te\u00f2rics com personals.<\/p>\n<p>Chema Alvargonz\u00e1lez, Mart\u00ed Anson, Maurycy Gomulicki, Oliver Held, Leiko Ikemura, Andreas M. Kaufmann, Mabel Palac\u00edn, Susan Philipsz, Francesc Ruiz, Jan Rothuizen, Sam Samore i Young-Hae Chang s\u00f3n els dotze artistes internacionals que han acceptat la invitaci\u00f3 a crear una obra nova utilitzant el llibre de Barthes com a punt de partida, inspiraci\u00f3 o reflexi\u00f3.
