Hasty departure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El registre dels actes i, sobretot, la seva repetici\u00f3, \u00e9s una preocupaci\u00f3 constant en l&#8217;obra de Peter Land (Aarhus, Dinamarca, 1966) amb la qual l&#8217;artista explora les condicions b\u00e0siques de l&#8217;exist\u00e8ncia i intenta trobar sentit a actes que semblen mancats de sentit. L&#8217;artista realitza els seus registres en situacions estranyes, sovint grotesques, caricaturitzades o portades a l&#8217;extrem per a aconseguir una definici\u00f3 m\u00e9s clara dels problemes als quals s&#8217;enfronta. Els v\u00eddeos, dibuixos i instal\u00b7lacions de Land solen mostrar-li en processos obsessivament repetitius condemnats al frac\u00e0s: vestit com un showman de televisi\u00f3 passat de moda que intenta sense \u00e8xit asseure&#8217;s en un tamboret, per\u00f2 cau una vegada i una altra (Pink Space, v\u00eddeo, 1995); intentant pintar el sostre d&#8217;una habitaci\u00f3 pujat a una escala de m\u00e0 sense poder evitar caure una vegada i una altra (Step Ladder Blues, v\u00eddeo, 1995); posse\u00eft per estranys somnis que ho col\u00b7loquen en situacions rid\u00edcules i angoixants (The Strange Dream Came Back Again LastNight, s\u00e8rie de dibuixos, 1997); La caiguda per una escala sense fi (The Staircase, v\u00eddeo, 1998); l&#8217;enfonsament amb la seva barca en un llac (The Lake, v\u00eddeo i fotografies, 1999). Com un S\u00edsif intranscendent i deliberadament c\u00f2mic, Land cau, s&#8217;aixeca de nou i torna a caure una vegada i una altra, enfrontant-se a les seves pors en un intent permanent de superar-los. Com el propi artista va declarar una vegada: \u201cCrec que en el meu propi treball, a trav\u00e9s del registre d&#8217;actes i la seva repetici\u00f3, estic tractant de reflectir algunes condicions b\u00e0siques de la meva pr\u00f2pia exist\u00e8ncia i tal vegada omplir d&#8217;alguna mena de significat aparent el que no t\u00e9 sentit. Tal vegada aquest significat \u00e9s exposar el que no t\u00e9 sentit (&#8230;) Gran part del meu treball se centra en la desil\u00b7lusi\u00f3; la sensaci\u00f3 que el significat se t&#8217;escapa quan m\u00e9s el necessites; quan creus que has ent\u00e8s el m\u00f3n tal com \u00e9s i has posat les coses en la perspectiva correcta, de sobte succeeix alguna cosa que soscava aquesta sensaci\u00f3. El teu m\u00f3n s&#8217;esfondra i has de comen\u00e7ar de nou\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En posar-se en situacions que estan clarament en desacord amb les normes de la societat, l&#8217;artista busca revisar o renovar les percepcions de si mateix o el significat social de la seva ocupaci\u00f3. Una vegada m\u00e9s, l&#8217;artista es descriu a si mateix en les seves pr\u00f2pies paraules: &#8220;En tot el meu treball, tracte d&#8217;a\u00efllar diferents aspectes de la meva pr\u00f2pia autopercepci\u00f3. \u00c9s com posar a prova la meva pr\u00f2pia identitat per mitj\u00e0 de reflexions en forma de gravacions de mi mateix en diferents situacions escenificades. Aquestes situacions s\u00f3n sovint grotesques, caricaturitzades o portades a l&#8217;extrem com una manera d&#8217;a\u00efllar i ampliar el tema, per a cristal\u00b7litzar-lo i mediar-lo el m\u00e9s clarament possible per a mi, aix\u00ed com per a un possible p\u00fablic. Considero l&#8217;extrem com una manera de centrar-se, o com va dir una vegada el pintor dan\u00e8s Asger Jorn: &#8216;O vas als extrems o no vas en absolut&#8217; (&#8230;) La principal ra\u00f3 per la qual m&#8217;uso a mi mateix com a figura en el meu treball t\u00e9 a veure amb la idea de narraci\u00f3. \u201cEm sentiria inc\u00f2mode utilitzant a una altra persona perqu\u00e8 considero que el meu treball \u00e9s m\u00e9s aviat una declaraci\u00f3 d&#8217;intencions, i utilitzar a una altra persona seria com posar paraules en boca d&#8217;una altra persona. Crec que desdibuixaria el significat de l&#8217;obra\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Creada especialment per a Espai 13, la instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 Hasty Departure \u00e9s una escultura que b\u00e9 podria descriure&#8217;s com una manera de congelar una acci\u00f3 impossible i completament fora de control. Podria ser f\u00e0cilment una escena extreta d&#8217;una pel\u00b7l\u00edcula de Buster Keaton o Harold Lloyd, o la caricatura m\u00e9s absurda i surrealista: una cama, sostinguda per una m\u00e0, desapareix a trav\u00e9s del sostre. En l&#8217;altre extrem, la m\u00e0 sost\u00e9 una maleta que s&#8217;ha obert i vessa el seu contingut en el s\u00f2l. Una sortida precipitada, en efecte.<\/p>\n<p>Unes portes diminutes ens conviden a travessar un llindar que ens resulta completament impossible de negociar. Aquesta obra ens porta inevitablement a la ment els contes de Lewis Carroll (pel qual Peter Land es confessa completament fascinat), aix\u00ed com les il\u00b7lustracions originals de Sir John Tenniel per a Alicia al pa\u00eds de les meravelles, un important punt de refer\u00e8ncia per a aquest artista dan\u00e8s. Igual que Carroll, Land ens convida a entrar en una dimensi\u00f3 diferent, on les coses segueixen una l\u00f2gica diferent de la qual dicten les normes, un m\u00f3n en el qual les conviccions i creences que cr\u00e8iem fermament arrelades es tornen transit\u00f2ries i poc fiables.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C4gCi6PpnqY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>En la seva obra, Peter Land es converteix en un analista del nostre temps, l\u00facid i melanc\u00f2lic a parts iguals. L&#8217;artista es proposa personalment com a objecte d&#8217;estudi, amb el seu cos, el seu aix\u00f2, els seus dubtes i les seves pors, per a revelar la fragmentaci\u00f3, la dignitat i l&#8217;absurd dels homes contemporanis, tal com es veu en les imatges quotidianes que es transmeten a trav\u00e9s dels nostres codis culturals i els mitjans de comunicaci\u00f3. Com tan encertadament afirmen Renate Wiehager i Knut Nievers en el seu text \u201cGround-less\u201d: \u201cAll\u00ed on la seva mirada es gira en la seva cerca d&#8217;una \u2018unitat\u2019 darrere del m\u00f3n quotidi\u00e0 que doti de sentit a la vida, arriba a recon\u00e8ixer la seva imman\u00e8ncia.
