A partir de referentes cotidianos, elabora comentarios, en apariencia banales, que resultan ser cr\u00edticas y precisas observaciones sobre nuestro presente. Con frecuencia, sus v\u00eddeos e instalaciones recurren a objetos cotidianos que son transformados en objetos art\u00edsticos . De manera juguetona, pero muy l\u00facida, el artista confronta al espectador a sutiles desplazamientos o diferencias que nos invitan a modificar nuestra percepci\u00f3n de las cosas y a plantearnos preguntas sobre el mundo en que vivimos y sobre nuestra relaci\u00f3n con \u00e9l.<\/p>\n<p>Creada expresamente para el Espai 13, la instalaci\u00f3n Things are generally different behind closed doors presenta a dos peculiares personajes que mantienen una conversaci\u00f3n acerca de sus vidas. Un disco de algod\u00f3n (de esos que se emplean para el desmaquillaje) y un coche Smart hablan sobre sus experiencias, sus ideales y sus conflictos personales. La conversaci\u00f3n se desarrolla con palabras y tambi\u00e9n con im\u00e1genes que son proyectadas en una especie de escenario. Los temas discurren por rumbos muy diversos: la vida en las ciudades, en contraposici\u00f3n con la vida en el campo; las relaciones con los dem\u00e1s; los estilos de vida y sus implicaciones; el vestir y la apariencia, como indicadores de la pertenencia a determinadas comunidades o grupos sociales; el estado del bienestar y sus implicaciones m\u00e1s concretas y personales; los reality shows; la conciencia y la aceptaci\u00f3n de pertenecer a una sociedad mediatizada&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oZbEi7iZTmk\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Todos los di\u00e1logos proceden de conversaciones escuchadas y recopiladas por el artista en el transcurso de viajes en tren, en restaurantes y en distintos lugares p\u00fablicos. As\u00ed, pues, esos dos personajes no son en absoluto ex\u00f3ticos; al contrario, constituyen dos ejemplos contempor\u00e1neos. Uno de ellos es m\u00e1s dom\u00e9stico y estable, modesto y disciplinado, realista y pr\u00e1ctico, y est\u00e1 bastante satisfecho con su situaci\u00f3n vital. El otro es m\u00e1s complicado, inestable, excesivo, sociable y con una tendencia a emitir juicios de valor apresurados.<\/p>\n<p>No es la primera vez que Goldberg crea una historia de apariencia inocente, si bien, al revestir \u00e9sta el car\u00e1cter de una declaraci\u00f3n p\u00fablica, asume la categor\u00eda de diagn\u00f3stico. Como afirma el propio artista, \u201cla simplicidad y el tono juguet\u00f3n no significan que mi trabajo sea irrelevante. El hecho de utilizar s\u00edmbolos simples lo hace universalmente comprensible (&#8230;) Pienso que el arte ha de tener diferentes niveles. Y el primer nivel o introducci\u00f3n debe tener siempre, al menos en mi trabajo,esa atm\u00f3sfera juguetona o inofensiva. No quiero que mi arte sea de ning\u00fan modo impresionante o espectacular\u201d . En trabajos anteriores, Goldberg se ha servido de un juego infantil (Piedra, Papel y Tijera) para intervenir en un espacio p\u00fablico en el Oberbaum Bridge de Berl\u00edn (la antigua frontera que, en la ciudad, separaba las Alemanias del Este y del Oeste), reduciendo y equiparando la rivalidad y las tensiones pol\u00edticas a un juego infantil. Curtain.mov era una cortina roja (y en Things are generally different behind closed doors , la cortina que rodea el escenario constituye una clara alusi\u00f3n a aqu\u00e9lla) que se desplazaba de manera tan sutil como imperceptible a lo largo de un corredor transparente de sesenta metros que une dos dependencias del Edificio Martin Gropius en Eberswalde. O, m\u00e1s recientmente, en Next Destination, Milk &#038; Honey, el artista ha instalado una parada de autob\u00fas en el centro de Heidenheim, que anuncia cada d\u00eda uno de los dos mil destinos del mapa de Schlaraffenland, la Accurata Utopia Tabula (c.1720) en la que el cart\u00f3grafo Johann Baptist Homann reprodujo con todo detalle y precisi\u00f3n todos los top\u00f3nimos de la tierra de la leche y de la miel, la Tierra de Cuca\u00f1a o Tierra de Jauja.<\/p>\n<p>Cortinas que se mueven, mapas imaginarios, juegos de ni\u00f1os, coches y algodones parlantes&#8230; Goldberg utiliza objetos y situaciones de la vida real y los transforma en agudos y directos cuestionamientos.
